19.7. Rate Tabs: Component Attributes

 

Component Attributes

On this screen you select the components to be used in the rate build up and specify the attributes per component.

Click on the 'Add' button to add a new component row. You may add multiple rows before saving.

To remove components from the list, select the relevant components in the check boxes down the left and then click on 'Delete selected'.

Opt

No:
The component is always applied when the rate is calculated.

Yes:
The component is only applied on an itinerary item, if the user specifically selects it on the reservation.

If an optional component is selected on a reservation, the value of the component will be added to the standard rate amount.

Def

No:
The component is only applied when the user specifically selects it on the reservation.

Yes:
The component is always applied when the rare is calculated.

As above – optional components are added to the rate (as opposed to non-optional components which are extrapolated from the rate).

Comm.
  • Not commissionable: ignore component for all commission calculations
  • Calculate: include this component when calculating commission (but do not deduct the commission amount from this component)
  • Calculate and deduct: calculate commission on this component and deduct just that calculated amount from the component
  • Calculate & deduct all: Calculate comm. on this component and deduct commission from all non-deducted components.
  • If any component is flagged as 'Calculate' only, then another component must be flagged as 'Deduct all' or as 'Calculate and deduct'.
  • Not more than 1 component may be flagged as 'Deduct all'.
  • If one or more component is flagged as 'Calculate', there are 2 options of where the calculated amount will be deducted from:
 i. If there is a component flagged as 'Calculate and deduct all', the full amount will be deducted from that component.
ii. If there is just 1 component flagged as 'Calculate and deduct', the full amount will be deducted from that component.
iii. If there are multiple components flagged as 'Calculate and deduct', the amount will be deducted pro rata from those components. The proportions are established by summing the values of the 'Calculate and deduct' components and establishing what proportion of the total each component represents.

Frequency
  • Night – The specified rate is charged per night (per person or per unit, as specified in the component split)
  • Stay – The specified rate is applied once per itin item (per person or per unit, as specified in the component split)

This determines which night of the stay you wish the component to applied to.

e.g. if you specify 3 – the component will be applied on the third night of the stay. If the stay is shorter, the component cannot be applied.

Separate

No:

Do not show this component separately on reservation documents.

Yes:

Show this component as a separate line on reservation documents.

Default inherited from component code table

Tax rate

Select from Tax Rate table.

This field may only be populated if Tax group is blank.

Tax group

Select from Tax Group table.

This field may only be populated if tax rate is blank.
